Hmmmm….sounds good. Seems like all of the Chinese Proverbs always have a nice ring to them. This one reminds me again a little of the Serenity prayer. “God grant me the Serenity to accept the things that I cannot change; courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference”. Basically it’s better to find a solution to your problem (light the candle) than it is to bitch and complain about it (curse the darkness). Sorry I have to call it like I see it and some times we have to be “out there” to get the point across. I still have to work on this from time to time because I will catch myself complaining about something instead of focusing on the solution. At my J O B I get scheduled for my work each day and some times, quite frankly it is ridiculous but I have learned to not curse the darkness (bitch about it) I quickly decide if there is anything I can do about it (courage to change things I can) like call another tech to switch or just do it (serenity to accept the things I cannot change) You will find that your life and health will improve when you stop complaining about things and start focusing on the solution. Worry and anger over something will not make it get better or go away it just eats at your mental and physical health.  Step 1. can I fix this problem yes or no? Yes, then what are the possible solutions? NO, then Breath, accept the situation for what it is and remember that this too shall pass. Be the  light where there is darkness.

Do You Beleive That You Can Have What You Want?


Do You BeleiveWe all want and desire things but do we truly feel that we can have and deserve them. Our conscious mind can come up with all kinds of the things that we want, both the material and non-material like happiness, a great relationship, cars, a nice house, a good job etc. BUT do we really believe that it is attainable? Are we grateful for it before we even receive it? To we go through our day as if what we want is already ours? I use to have very low self-confidence even though you could not tell because outwardly I carried myself with an air of confidence but deep down I always questioned my intellect and worthiness. I always looked at others as if they had more or was always smarter than I was even though there was no evidence to support it. I don’t know why I felt that way and it really didn’t matter why or where the thoughts came from, what mattered is that I changed it here in the present. After many self-improvement books and audios I started to change my view of myself and started realizing that I am a creation of infinite wisdom and that I could have, be and do all that I wanted as long as I asked and was willing to receive. I can give you countless stories of things and circumstances that I have since crated and manifested I bet that if you think about it you can see things and situations that you have created and manifested yourself. The great thing is that when you focus and get better at it you can do it more often.

How Grateful Are You?


atittude of gratitudeGratitude is a daily discipline. It is easy to be grateful for the good things that happen and come to us but how about the things that seem bad, horrible or difficult at the time? I am not one to believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, why do I say this, because we live in a large Universe connected to everything and everyone around us and sometimes random things, both good and bad, happen to us but for the majority of the time we are absolutely responsible for what happens to us. Sometimes things don’t work out as we plan but when you stay focused and grateful you later find that things have worked out to your benefit. At times like this I like to refer to the Serenity Prayer “ God grant me the Serenity to accept the things that I cannot control; the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference” You have to get to a point where when confronted with difficulty to decide is it is something that you can change or not and then react accordingly while reaming happy and grateful. It is not expected of you to always be happy, we have our emotions for a reason, they are our guidance system but your job is to strive be happier then you are in that moment. It is ok to be angry, sad, upset etc but don’t live there don’t wallow in it, in that moment find a way to get happier and always have an attitude of gratitude. We can ALWAYS find things to be grateful for.

What Are You Waiting For?


Today's Daily Inspiration

Have you ever waited for a “better time” to do something or said “I will do it later” only to find yourself saying the same thing a month later? Sure sometimes there is a better time to do something but many times now is the best time. We get so caught up in the daily drudge of things that we don’t take advantage of the small pleasures in life or even take the time to schedule for fun. We plan and schedule work and projects, why don’t we plan time to “enjoy the roses outside our window”? I know that I have to make a conscious effort sometimes to plan for fun and of late I have made sure that my daily routine allows flexibility to spend those spontaneous moments with the kids, which with the kids it seems that most of their moment are spontaneous. Take time to enjoy the journey of life while looking for joy and pleasure in every moment.

Have you Fallen?

Please do not dwell on mistakes because that will only hold you back from moving forward and growing. Simply ask yourself what can I learn from this to ensure that I don’t make the same mistake again, forgive your self and move on. I was trying to think of some mistakes that I could share with you, as there are many, and the one that comes to mind is my past relationships. I have loved and lost, some by my own doing and some not but over the past few years I have made a concentrated effort to learn from those experiences and in return I have learned a lot about myself and what I really want in a partner. I didn’t do this on my own as I started reading books and listening to audio programs about relationships because you don’t know what you don’t know and when you think you know it all is when you get in to trouble. Mistakes happen, learn from them and move forward with no regrets with the conviction of being a better you each and every day.

Are You Nice?

Now you would think that this is one is a no brainer but there are many people that being nice doesn’t pay or that you always get screwed when you are nice and this is usually because we are expecting some thing in return. When ever you give or do something for others do it with a pure heart and with out expecting anything in return. If you give some money to a person in need don’t second-guess as to what they are going to do with the money. When ever you give some one some thing or do something for them out of kindness then at the point the transaction is over, you did what you did because it was the right thing to do expecting nothing in return. Many of our greatest deeds should go unseen because in the long run you are the major recipient of your kindness. Giving and being kind releases endorphins, which in turn help us to be healthier but it doesn’t work if you are waiting for something in return and holding resentment when you don’t receive it, then it has the opposite effect on your health and well being. It is Scientifically proven that laughter and being happy, really being and feeling happy not just saying it, is very beneficial to your health and healing properties. Now go out there and make someone smile just by smiling at them.

Regardless of what anyone says to you or about you the fact is that it is up to you how you allow that to make you feel. Initially you may feel sad, angry, upset or an array of  feeling but you then have to realize that what was said or done to you is not what makes you who you are, you decide that. Everyone has their own opinion about you and that is all it is, their opinion, therefore the only reasonable response to any ones criticism about you is to smile, quickly analyze the input to use anything constructive from it and continue moving forward in the faith that what you are doing is in your best interest and to the greater good of others.

Are You Just a Dreamer?


I01-15f you dream about doing and having great things but you never take any action then you are only a dreamer. Everything that exists in the world today and yes I mean everything, started as a thought. Take the time (10 to 15 minutes a day) to sit down and build that castle in the sky, feel, I mean really feel what it is like to be, do and have what you want, visualize it with great detail THEN through out the day focus on it’s attainment, put that foundation under it. Don’t get caught up in the daily daily, focus on what “will be” because your creator wants to give you everything that you ask for but you have to ask for it and be willing to follow the path to GO AND GET IT. Alone at Christmas

christmas22Merry Christmas! As I sit here and reflect in a quiet house because the kids are at their mothers I am once again reminded that TRUE Happiness comes from with in. It can be easy to get sad when you are alone especially during the Holidays but when you are at peace in your heart and at peace with your creator you KNOW that you are loved. Having something to look forward to also makes it easier, for example I will be picking up the kids later and going to my parents for Christmas dinner but for life in general we have to have something to look forward to. A few things that I have learned over the years to get through tough times and find inner peace and Happiness is to know with out a shadow of doubt and unwavering faith that I am loved by my creator, family and friends, despite how things my APPEAR at times and I stick to this belief because I know it to be fact. As for having something to look forward to I have learned that we can have, do and be anything that we set our minds to. The Bible says ask and ye shall receive, he that knocketh the door will be opened. Now we all know that it is not always that simple but when you do things for the betterment of others, maintain a clear focus of your goal/dream and remember to LIVE in the moment and enjoy the journey, the process becomes so much easier. Everything starts with a thought so DREAM big and take massive action. Anything worth doing is worth doing badly, meaning that if it is action towards your dream don’t wait until you are perfect or for the perfect moment just get moving. Find an accountability partner a mentor, study, learn and take action every day towards your dreams whether it is the perfect soul mate, improving your current relationship, making money, raising your kids, getting healthy because it is up to you to make it happen. Here is a little quote for you “If it is going to be, it is up to me”. And remember that the reaching of one goal is just the beginning of the next one, when you stop growing you start dying so keep growing as a person and striving to be better than you were yesterday and in return you will make those around you better and this is how we make the world a better place one person at a time starting with ourselves. Yes! It is your fault.

Yes! It is your fault.

 

How often do you blame your situations and circumstances on other people, things or places? I have adopted the philosophy that I am accountable for absolutely everything that happens to me, both good and bad. Yes, that means take credit for the good things, that also means take credit for the bad things even when it is obvious it was not your fault. Now I am talking about taking blame for a car accident when some one rear ends you but do take responsibility for the fact that you were there in that moment in time that put you in place to be hit. Let me explain why, this is not about whose fault it is a bout moving forward and how can you move forward and have control if you are giving the control to other people and circumstances? This is about you looking deeper in to yourself to see how you can make things better because or you could have done things differently for future reference. We both know that just sitting around waiting for answers or for some else to fix the problem is just very unlikely.

 

Try it for a week, take full and absolute responsibility for everything that happens to you. Some things will seem a little absurd at first but you will be surprised at how liberating it is and how empowered you will feel. You will start to see solutions to problems that you never thought possible because you have now taken ownership of them and become responsible for the solutions.

 

I often like to refer to the Serenity prayer – “God grant me the Serenity to accept the things that I can not control; the courage to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Of course in life there will be things that we cannot change that were not our fault and just random act of the Universe, this is when we ask for the strength to move on and power through. Release the idea that God is dictating your life (ask ye shall receive) you have heard the phrase “be careful what you ask for”? God is and always will be on your side, we are our own worse enemies so start taking a closer look at your thoughts and wishes. People that think marriage sucks have bad marriages and people that think marriage is great have great marriages. You can have 2 people working at the same place and one thinks it sucks and the other thinks it’s a great place to work and this is because of what YOU bring to it with your thoughts and attitude. I use to not like the phrase “things happen for a reason” then I realized that it is true and the reason is YOU! Some things are random but most things that happen to YOU are brought on by YOU. It is up to us to find the positive lesson from the things that happen to us.
